Whatever benefit “everybody” has allegedly received from slavery has been more than squandered over the last 60 years and has become a tremendous liability to the country and generations who had nothing to do with it.
This isn’t popular to say, but “everybody” includes blacks.
There - I said it.
It doesn’t mean I agree with slavery, or want it to come back. But the fact remains that the descendants of slaves are *much* better off than the descendants of those who stayed behind in Africa. Virtually no blacks are moving back to Africa.
After the civil war, the Republican congress approved reparations to all freed slaves, 40 acres and a mule. andrew johnson, the dim-0 prez who advanced from vp to prez when a dim-0 killed Lincoln for freeing the slaves, vetoed it.
They would be living in a mud hut and eating bugs.
Now they have a cell phone and EBT.
I would say they are the main beneficiaries.

Colonials, in North America, were not allowed to participate in the trns-atlantic moves;but they were the minor customers.

Harvard is full of black students with zero American slave blood. They were 50% of all black students there a few years ago.

There were even, or so I have heard, military units of the North in which German was spoken, and even the officers commanded their men in German.
