Corwin changed nothing, but it held Border States in the Union long enough to defeat Confederates and abolish slavery via the 13th Amendment.

That makes Corwin an important piece of anti-slavery legislation!

You are unbelievable. An absolute stab in the back to the slaves by the Republicans controlling Congress in 1861, and you are trying to convince people "it was part of a grand scheme to free them! "

And the 13th amendment is a fake amendment passed by tyranny. If the actual will of the people was enacted, there were never enough ratifying states to pass that "amendment."

We all like to pretend it is legitimate, but it was enacted through force, not democracy. It is a humiliation of our Constitutional law.

DiogenesLamp [on Corwin]: "You are unbelievable.

I thought that might jerk your chain. 😉

And sorry to interrupt your little fantasy rant, but 2/3 of Republicans in Congress voted against Corwin, not for it.
Corwin passed congress only because Democrats, especially Southern Democrats, voted unanimously for it.

DiogenesLamp: "And the 13th amendment is a fake amendment passed by tyranny.

100% of states ratified all three Reconstruction Amendments:

And the fantasy rants just never end with you, do they?

Here's the truth of it: the 13th, 14th & 15th Reconstruction Amendments were all ratified by state legislatures elected by the qualified voters in their states.
Of course many did not, or could not, vote -- notably those wearing uniforms of the Confederacy.

Among qualified voters in the required 3/4 of states, the vote to ratify the Reconstruction amendments was more than adequate.

  1. 13th Amendment: 27 ratifications required of 36 states -- 32 states ratified by 1866.

  2. 14th Amendment: 28 ratifications required of 37 states -- 33 states ratified by 1870.

  3. 15th Amendment: 28 ratifications required of 37 states -- 31 states ratified by 1871.

  4. As of 2013, 100% of US states have ratified all three Reconstruction amendments.

DiogenesLamp: "We all like to pretend it is legitimate, but it was enacted through force, not democracy.
It is a humiliation of our Constitutional law."

And still your nonsense doesn't end!
I refer you to the US Constitution, Article I, Section 5, Clause 1.
It reads:

Sure, I get that you loathe & despise the US Constitution, except where you can interpret it to support slavery, then that's sacrosanct, right?
Regardless, the fact is that Congress does not have to accept as legitimate every Tom, Dick and Jane who shows up at Congress's front door claiming to be a state's representative.
Congress can set whatever standards it wants, so that's what it did regarding the three Reconstruction Amendments.
