They have cornbread and creamy slaw, in the form of little corn muffins and that pale almost white cabbage that all the restaraunts use these days because they are afraid to use the beautiful green outer leaves of cabbage, for some reason.
They have a BBQ style chicken that is good. But, they could probably do better if the offered true BBQ.
Freshen the green beans up, I don’t think too many people these days yearn for the old cooked to death olive drab beans of pot luck days.
Turnip greens with smoked turkey in them would be great but not sure if younger generations even eat greens.
Good creamy slaw...not that bitter stuff from a carton will keep me going there.. Big cornbread squares, moist with butter and honey...not little muffins...real smoked bbq...not bbq with bbq sauce on it ..used to be a place in l.a..The Pantry....best slaw...2nd best slaw was Les Sisters...southern home cooking...if they keep losing stock valuation the big investor gonna start dumping which will accelerate the losses...if no confidence in management...the brand will be snapped up in bankruptcy court.
I’m perfectly happy with their turnip greens with bits of ham in it. I never thought I would like them, but “Good Directions” was playing one day and I decided to go for it.
Now, I have to choose them as a side.
