I think the kerfluffle over the logo change, while valid, is missing the point. People go to CB for the atmosphere of an old country store, not a sterile modern fastfood place.

The draw of CB was its DIFFERENCE, not its SAMENESS. It had a unique charm, which made up for the fact that the food generally wasn't something to write home about.

Just like Hooters without the girls is just another food joint, Cracker Barrel without the old-time decor and atmosphere is just another food joint.

Sterilizing the logo was just the last straw for a lot of people.

Damn woke CEO bull$hit, when's it gonna stop....?

Bingo. That and the CEO can’t have an old white dude, who harbors old non WOKE ideals representing a brand.

“an old country store”

That’s a stretch... Old country stores along the backroads of the kack-a-lacky’s back in the day sold canned meat, Lance saltines, beer, stale cigarettes, and bottles of warm pop. Every thing was covered with road dust from the shell marl.
