It was a youth boom not exactly a dream
The leaders of the upheaval from civil rights to yippies and free love never a real majority were actually pre boomers

Nobody ever says that inconvenient truth

The music however was great

Still is

“”””The leaders of the upheaval from civil rights to yippies and free love never a real majority were actually pre boomers””””

You can see that in the list of musicians in the article, Silent Generation people and some older than them.

It was a decade of unique creativity.

"Chain Gang" - Sam Cooke

"Cherish" - The Association

"Closer to Home" - Grand Funk Railroad

"Come And Get It" - Badfinger

"Crossroads" - Cream (1968 Live)

"Carry On" - CSN&Y (2000 Reunion)

"Without You" - Harry Nilsson - first done by Badfinger.

"Unchained Melody" - The Righteous Brothers - Perhaps the apex of love songs.

The problem with all of the movements of that time, especially the Civil Rights Movement, was that the Communists were driving the bus.

Meh... but I do like world music, Zydeco, Tex-Mex, accordians, brass, the whole guitar thing was steeped in mediocrity... until the 3rd wave. The Beatles ruined everything, Ringo was okay tho’
