I'd be surprised if they even knew what a consequence was.
They kinda sorta do. There’s the big phrase they love throwing out “F around and find out...” so they have a vague awareness of some actions begetting repercussions. But, in that instance, it’s usually because they’ve been shown disrespect.
Ironic, because these sh*t heads have NO concept of respect when it’s on their end.
When I was working at the day treatment with the gang bangers, one little mouth breather shouted at me, “I don’t have to respect you — you aint rich (I was, i just didn’t show it), you don’t got a good car (true, because I drove it like I stole it and was on my second transmission), and you don’t bang...”
These kids were stupid AF, but demanded not just respect but adoration.
The misguided idea in education is if we treat these kids with respect without them earning it, they will respect other people. Nope, wrong-a-mundo. It just turns them into even bigger entitled sh*theads.
They just want prizes, tummy rubs and parties thrown for them. Those are GOOD consequences.
