Ketamine is being tested. I was given it as general anesthetic for a collapsed lung. Supposedly it doesn’t depress autonomic functions like other medications do. By far the weirdest medication I’ve ever been given. I remember weird sounds and colors and feeling like I was deep underwater and had to swim to the surface before I could exist again. I woke up and for 10 minutes all I could say was “WTF was that?”
It’s some powerful stuff. And people take it recreationally!

I’ve seen animals coming out of ketamine. It’s a little funny, as if they ARE thinking ‘WTF’?
Didn’t know they used it on humans though it is they anesthetic of choice for veterinarians.
Were you at the animal hospital when this happened?
