Call Her Daddy co-creator Alex Cooper is now the highest-earning female podcaster, having signed a $125M three-year contract with Sirius XM in 2024 - but just eight years ago, she was struggling to pay her rent.

My still-slumbering brain and lack of caffeine had me reading this as “Alice Cooper” and I was trying to figure out how a quite successful 70-something rocker needed a sugar daddy.
IIRC, “Call Her Daddy” was supposed to be Kamala Harris’ answer to Joe Rogan. A couple of former prostitutes.

In the old days, bored ladies would watch the soap operas. The new generation listens to this crap. Both a serious waste of time.
Why is she the highest-earning? A quick look finds that she’s not one of the highest-rated. I quickly find that Crime Junkie, Cold Blooded, Amy Poehler, Mel Robbins, Megan Kelly, My Favorite Murder, etc. are all more popular.
Her last show was all about how to avoid catching crabs on the first date.
Yes, Harris agreed to pay for a new set for the podcast and cover other expenses. Reportedly, $1 million was spent to produce the podcast in which she appeared with Alex Cooper.

OK, I clicked on the article and looked. Glad I went to high school and college in the 1970s because there were a lot of girls who were WAY better looking back then!
