The Chief of Police is asked “..what is the chain of command now?”. The multiple box checked DEI hire says “what does that mean?”.

I’m hoping she was only asking in a rhetorical sense; such as “What are you implying by that question?”

Agreed. I count it as reason for cautious optimism (if I lived in DC). Also, kept in the back of my mind is, as Trump has reminded the Dim media multiple times, is that Trump offered to use the national guard to protect the Capitol for Jan 6, and Pelosi turned it down. These are different circumstances, of course. But the narrative has been set that Trump has offered to stop violence and there's only so many times the Dims can turn it down without it looking bad on the Dims.
