Lefty elites harrumph against Trump's Washington takeover, but crime-hit locals secretly like it.
Washington, D.C. is so badly mismanaged under one-party Democrat rule it has become unlivable. Crime, corruption, lawlessness, disorder, and neglect have made the city a shambles.
Which is why President Trump, preternaturally attuned popular sentiment, and always cognizant of appearances, declared intent to take over Washington, D.C. and make it a crime- and chaos-free city that can serve as a beacon to world leaders, a model to other blue cities to imitate, and a demonstration to voters of the stark contrast between red and blue rule.
Naturally, the elites were upset.

Power grab? Actually, the criminals have grabbed power as ruling elites do nothing. Not a word about the crime problem, which remains chronic and is definitely getting out of control. Just concerns about Democrats losing power.
Other jackasses cited statistics claiming crime was down, something that was rebuffed by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, who pointed out that people are no longer reporting crime.
Meanwhile, here's Washington, D.C.'s mayor, Muriel Bowser, who famously painted 'defund the police' on a Washington street in an attempted rebuke to President Trump during his last term amid riots.

President Trump is rolling up his sleeves and taking out the trash.
Trump’s productivity is quite impressive. Trump is juggling about million balls right now. Everyday is something new. Democrats are shell shocked. I knew a second Trump admin would be fun but Trump has far exceeded my estimation.

WDC has been a dump for decades...in many ways. From their politicians, their corrupted police department, their uncivilized residents and so forth...they stink.
If President Trump literally stopped right now, he would have exceeded my expectations and I am not making a dig at him. I have never seen someone hit the ground running and just never stopping like this.
You get some grumblers here on FR still complaining he isn’t doing enough. How much more does he have to do to please them?
I went to DC on a trip from my college in 1980. It was a total crimehole then. We were warned about going out at night and being alone.
I see nothing has really changed. A US Senator was shot in a robbery in 1973

I spent four years in high school, three years in graduate school, and 55 years employed in WDC. That was probably the most truthful and humorous statement Marion Barry ever uttered!
