They never saw it coming. . .
I’m sympathetic that they’re blind but they’re not deaf. They should’ve heard the gate change announcement and although I don’t know the layout of the airport for certain, I’m pretty sure B6 is right next to B4 and they should’ve heard the gate attendant announce the boarding for their flight.
That said - they flew the plane back to GET them instead of bumping them to the next day!
I just flew on delta last week. All 4 flights were overbooked and they had the lottery to get people to sell their seats. They started at 100 bucks. Went to 900 before anybody sold. Happened all 4 times. Everybody flying delta knew to wait It was funny. People actually got somewhat mad at the game and said they would do it at 1000 but others jumped early. Pretty funny.
Should have sent them the CEO’s corporate jet
Unless they are deaf, I put this on the passengers.
Four writers needed to make up fiction ...
They didn’t hear the boarding announcements or hear the commotion of the other travelers packing up their stuff and getting in line?
This is not Herb Kelleher’s Southwest Airlines anymore.
The report doesn’t say, but any rookie reporter would ask if the blind passengers had informed Southwest, either when booking or arriving at the gate. Somehow, they made their way into the boarding queue. Did they have the special canes? Were they accompanied by a friend or relative? Was there any way the gate crew could have known?
And what were they doing in the “B” group anyway? Did they not hear the pre-boarding announcement? They should have been the first passengers on the plane. I don’t think the fault lies exclusively with Southwest.
That's a pretty awesome way to say "We're sorry".
““There needs to be some improvement in how they communicate with their passengers, especially those that have disabilities,” added Tate.”
Too bad ladies. Airlines are way to busy shuffling fatties around in wheel chairs (Hawaii was bad) to help truly disabled people. It is miracle like when the fatties get their bags they can miraculously walk to their shuttle bus without any problem.
Great job, Southwest! 👍🏻👍🏻
I believe there is no business more difficult than the airline business.
Incompetence is growing as fast as feral is.
Employers need to make workers wear a shirt stickers before starting their work shift.
REMOVE HEAD FORM ASS BEFORE STARTING YOUR SHIFT.
Shouldn’t they have been the first to board?
When they weren’t available for boarding, why wasn’t security called to find them?
Jeez louise.
Southwest Denies Wrongdoing After Blind Women Fly Empty Plane
Southwest, to my mind, still has some splainin' to do.
I suggest Capitol Hill.
my husband, who is hard of hearing, missed the quiet boarding call for a flight to the Philippines; when he went up to ask when they were boarding, the plane had left, but they arranged for him to get on a flight the next day and got him a hotel room; and then they put a note on his reservation that he was handicapped so this wouldn’t happen again.
