My #2 son made it through a week of jungle warfare training in Northern Okinawa. I know it's not planting the flag on Iwo Jima, but I'm very happy for him and proud of him.
Here's a video via You Tube from three years ago to give a quick glimpse of what it's like.
Thanks to all the young people that have the guts to join up. And thanks is not big enough to all the people that have given their lives. They should always be honoured.
