Well I hope the Marvelettes made some money from the Beatles cover version. Great song.

About two decades ago, I saw some original members of the Marvelettes perform live. They began their set with this follow-on to "Please, Mr. Postman."

Bobby Day (of Rockin' Robin fame), whose real name was Bobby Bird, came up with this answer to the Marvelettes.
