Mamdani probably got a huge “donation” from the teacher’s unions and now has to fight back at anything which threatens their monopoly.
Madmani’s positions are so radical he looks like a fever dream caricature of a leftist politician. It’s not like he ever explains how this stuff will work. He just throws the most absurd $hit out there to see who will gobble it up.
Typical low intelligence, low information people will glom onto one thing he vomits out and say to themselves, hey, I could use something like that. They never put 2 and 2 together to see it cannot work.

The Left doesn't care about reality. I'd say that is a central part of their problem.
On RussiaGate, Brennan was pushing lies that the intelligence community knew to be lies -- but Brennan told them: "It rings true, doesn't it?" Hey, if it sounds good, then that's even better than reality, eh?
And, as you point out, Mamdani pushes crazy ideas that have no chance of working -- but they sure sound great, don't they? Rainbows and unicorns for everyone, who could ask for more?
