WASHINGTON – Today, the Justice Department published a list of states, cities, and counties identified as having policies, laws, or regulations that impede enforcement of federal immigration laws.
“Sanctuary policies impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “The Department of Justice will continue bringing litigation against sanctuary jurisdictions and work closely with the Department of Homeland Security to eradicate these harmful policies around the country.”
On April 28, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14287
: Protecting American Communities from Criminal Aliens. The Executive Order recognized that “some State and local officials . . . continue to use their authority to violate, obstruct, and defy the enforcement of Federal immigration laws” and “[i]t is imperative that the Federal Government restore the enforcement of United States law.” The Executive Order directed the Justice Department, in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security, to publish a list of such jurisdictions. Accordingly, the following states, cities, and counties have been identified as sanctuary jurisdictions:
STATES:
- California
- Colorado
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- District of Columbia
- Illinois
- Minnesota
- Nevada
- New York
- Oregon

- Vermont
- Washington
COUNTIES:

- San Francisco County, CA
CITIES:

In recent months, the Justice Department has filed several lawsuits against sanctuary jurisdictions seeking to compel compliance with federal law, including one against New York City
on July 24th. Recently, the Mayor of Louisville agreed to revoke their sanctuary policies
following a letter from the Justice Department threatening legal action.
Read more about the sanctuary jurisdiction list and the criteria for inclusion here
. This list is not exhaustive and will be updated as federal authorities gather further information. The federal government will assist any jurisdiction that desires to be taken off this list to identify and eliminate their sanctuary policies, so they no longer stand in opposition to federal immigration enforcement.

I wonder when a leftard judge will rule the list “unconstitutional.”
So my pathetic blue state is on there. What does it mean, in reality?

I believe it means that President Trump will strategically withold federal funds which the state(s) use to support illegals. Medicaid, SNAP etc.
The USA isn’t California, where a lefty judge can overturn a referendum denying public benefits to criminal aliens.
If we keep giving them stuff, it just confuses them.
Then there are the “non-cooperative” jurisdictions like Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, or “sanctuary jurisdictions” like Madison, Dane County - all in Wisconsin. There are surely many more.
The list above is only a partial list.

Okay by me.
It’s about time the federal government invoked the supremacy clause. Any judge will have a hard time overruling that..
That list is missing several other cities in California.
But it may be the list of all jurisdictions which are gonna’ feel heat.Remember George Wallace and Alabama national guard which were federalized by JFK in June, 1963.
Trump may sign an EO to arrest any politician who sponsors resistance to federal law through their sanctuary city antics.
Do no enforcement in those areas and assist illegals to go there. NO ICE- welcome here!
In WASHINGTON...,they’d have to arrest many of our congress people and senators. I’m thinking specifically of Kshama Sawant. I want to see that evil woman cuffed and stuffed.
That should have already happened (past tense). They should also be arresting those governors, mayors, admins and legislators who initiated and promoted this crap.
It's the law.
Yes. I don’t see Santa Cruz listed.
This is from the OP:

Trump may sign an EO

Does not matter what 47 may do, only what he actually does.
