"'Shut the **** up! It's like this with you every ******* week!' Alt shouted at the child. "
Every Week? Every Week? Since when does the fire department go pick up unruly children and take them home? I thought the police did that and took them to Juvy?
FReepers what I'm I missing here? If the kid keeps running away either take her to Juvy to to a Chidlren's Nervous Hospital and see what is wrong with her but don't blame the fire man who has more important calls to go to like maybe an actual fire?
Those are called "terms of endearment" there.
Yeah, it sounds like there is a lot more to this story. But still harsh language to hurl at a 10 year old girl.
Frequent flyer?
Though, one has to wonder how effective yelling STFU is for calming a hysterical 10 year old.
Also odd: “another family member called the police, who had been kind to them in the past.”
I have another question. Why does a ten year old have a phone?
How much taxpayer money is spent dealing w/kids whose parent’s are unwilling to deal with?
Half the problem is that spanking will get your kids taken from you.
I’ve seen this happen before. People use emergency services as their personal taxi service. They abuse 911 calls too.
The family should be charged a fee for the frequent pickups and maybe they’ll stop
If the child has emotional problems, she may threaten to harm herself or get herself into situations which need fire personnel to extract her or treat her (many fire truck staff are trained paramedics).
The child needs to go into JV services where she gets some discipline.
I agree. Why has no one asked why the parents aren’t controlling their own child? Or that they call and waste first responders weekly for this
I don’t know if it is a small FD but it is not usual for the Fire chief to go on calls unless there is no one else
Sorry he lost his job
Corporal punishment served mankind well...
My four year old grandson flipped out the other day because he wanted to use an exacto knife to cut out some drawings.
He learned pretty quickly that he was A. NOT going to use the Exacto knife AND B. that crying about it was not going to change A.
Perhaps this 10 year old needed some lessons like this when she was 4.
I can’t approve of what he did but I sure am willing to cut him a lot of slack.
Fire Chief, Police Chief, what’s the difference to modern “journalists”?
Maybe if this dumbass family had disciplined this kid in the past, the cops and first responders would’t have to respond weekly to an unruly child and waste taxpayer money. This is on the family, not the fire chief
I blame the abuse of language on the removal of the Hays Code in movies back in 1969 and replaced it with a joke of a ratings system (GMRX). When that happened, to reign in “violence” in movies it instead opened the flood gates for the most vile movies ever made.
Now teens going to the movies hear their “heroes” using the most vile language and do the same.
Now it is also on TV and Satellite TV.
I agree.
