A Long Island police chief has been stripped of his duties after screaming at a young girl to 'shut the **** up' while she was loaded into the fire truck on a stretcher.
In a TikTok video uploaded on Monday, North Babylon Fire Chief Peter Alt berated and hurled obscenities at the 10-year-old girl while she was being strapped onto a stretcher.
'Shut the **** up! It's like this with you every ******* week!' Alt shouted at the child.
As the young girl pleaded with the fire department 'I don't want to go! I want to go home,' Alt responded 'Shut your mouth!'
Alt's outburst came after the girl's family called emergency services for help with calming the child down, her grandmother told NBC New York.
The girl allegedly became emotionally overwhelmed after her phone was taken away, so another family member called the police, who had been kind to them in the past.
A concerned neighbor saw the verbal altercation and began recording.
The child's grandmother, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was not there when the incident took place, but that she was 'devastated' by how the chief handled her granddaughter.

SOMETIMES-—YOU NEED TO “GET THEIR ATTENTION”.
THIS GIRL SOUNDS LIKE CHRONIC PROBLEM.
MANY STATES & CITIES ARE BANNING CELL PHONE DURING CLASS HOURS.
They banned them here in this Texas city
Any clue how many freaking exceptions and favoritisms there’ll be?
It’ll be worse
It won’t resemble Sr Mary Michael of the Dominican order, principal of local suburban catholic school circa 1964
It’ll be wimps. As usual. Texas wimps
All cell phones should be banned like cigarettes pre 18 y/o.
“I saw the video and she’s screaming “I don’t want to go home”. Why are they taking her home?”
Opposite. She’s saying she wants to go home =>

I heard some boys(And girls) that do it not only in front of adults, but even in front of their parents.
We have fallen a long ways.
The stupid 10 yr. old was having a MELTDOWN because they took her PHONE AWAY!!! He should have said that to her!!
BABYLON???? omg.
Firemen should fight fires and use the jaws of life to extricate victims in need of medical attention from wrecked vehicles.
Police should fight crime and hassle and harass riff raff making a public nuisance of themselves on the streets that should be a safe and secure venue for decent common folk to walk.
But then again I’m must be in living in the past, before gubmint became the Nanny State and Big Brother starting watching over us.
“Still, it’s simply inexcusable to lose your cool like that. Always assume these days that someone is filming you — someone usually is.”
Ever watch police body cams these days? They know they have a cam on their body and they cuss like sailors!
“Drop the ******* weapon!!! Drop the ******* weapon!!! Get down on the ******* ground!!! Get down on the ******* ground!!!”
Sometimes the perps are underage too!
So why is it any different with a fire cheif?
Almost sounds like she’s calling 911 a lot.
Because it’s not assumed to be an adversarial position. The 10-year-old may not have needed an ambulance, but they called nonetheless — happens all the time. Since the EMS providers can’t say no, they’ll just pick her up and take her to the ER and drop her off. It’s wastes a lot of resources, but that’s how the system currently works.
She’s not a criminal — at least not at the moment. There’s no need to curse at her. At least not out loud.
The difference is that an ambulance is requested to the scene by someone who thinks they need help — criminals don’t call for the police to come, and the subjects are initially presumed to be hostile because of the nature of the work.
Once the EMS providers are there, they’re there for the duration. They’re not going to leave the patient and come back later.
If a three-alarm fire comes up and an ambulance is needed while they’re pretty much wasting time with this 10-year-old, the call center will dispatch the next-closest available ambulance.
Sometimes it really sucks. Like when you’re wasting time on a nonsense call and a pediatric cardiac arrest comes up two blocks away. Unfortunately, that child will have to wait 5 or 7 minutes, because you’re stuck.
I totally agree.
If this is a weekly event, I imagine that the head of household
is going to get tired of paying the EMS $1,500 to $2,000 every
week for a ride to the hospital for this hysterical little s**t.
This speaks volumes about a society for which everything is given,
including lessons in parenting. No one asks if the 10 year-
old is justified in acting out her frustrations. No one asks
about the wisdom of giving a 10 year-old their own phone.
Rather, they call upon 911 services when their little monster
blows her top when you take the phone away. The result is that
a perfectly normal adult gives the 10 year-old the verbal advice
she does not get at home and loses his job for his trouble.
What a bunch of a**holes.
“He should be suspended with pay. It’s frustration. The suspension would be inline with taking one for the team.”
I don’t think there’s any pay. It’s a volunteer fire department. I think most of the Long Island FDs are volunteer. At least they were when I lived thjere.
giving her time outs brought us to this point. I wonder if anyone ever tried turning her over the knee, baring her ass and spanking it till its cherry red?
