Normally, a close call is a bad thing when it comes to riding motorcycles.
But in 1979, motorcyclists explored a niche intersection between safety and fun. Using precise driving, riders danced around each other with timing and skill -- at seven miles per hour.
The Tripoli Shrine Motor Club met every week for practice.
Watch the video above to see motorcycles make some close calls.

Just like Qantas.

Gotta run by Kmart.
My Dad had one of those saddlebag Harley’s from the 40s. No trunk though. Trunks just looked dumb on those bikes.
Our county fair had one of those motorcycle shows for a while.

My dad had a 46 Indian Chief with black leather saddle bags, quite the classic look. Actually, trunks on motorcycles look pretty stupid.
Thanks for this post!
Fond memories of growing up in Harvey, Ill., and watching them in parades. Shriners sometimes rode motorcycles, but mostly it was those little cars. As a 4-8 year old kid, I was blown away! Still am.
Those are some pretty precision bikers.
