I think the guy who says the railroad industry has been losing business to trucks is either lying or ignorant. The biggest factor in the decline of rail carload numbers in recent years has been the steep decline in coal shipments — which has nothing to do with competition from the trucking industry.
I’m not seeing as many windmill blades on railcars as in the past.
The rails haul a ton of coal and oil but the past two Demoncrat regimes hated coal and oil. With these types mergers tends to hurt the average worker with significant job layoffs.
Gas prices go up so does rail traffic. It’s been about 8 years now but at one time, there were about 48 engines parked off to the side in Missouri Valley Iowa. That tens of millions of dollars sitting idle.
