I want them to address health insurance. Very high premiums with very high deductibles. We have lost maybe $800/mo in take home income due to the premiums increasing every year since the Unaffordable Care Act.
Don’t forget also, it’s NOT insurance. Insurance is a set, reasonable rate/fee for a low probability and/or unforeseen event that would otherwise be catastrophic to the family unit (and larger groups per group agreement).
What we are paying for now is essentially the worst possible iteration of a pre-paid maintenance plan. You not only get stiffed and harvested for any access of it by yourself/family, but your rates reflect the costs associated with caring for every other citizen/non citizen slob under the sun’s crappy lifestyle choices, AND you are going to pay some fraction of a premium whether you like or want it or not.
It would be the same if you paid for a service plan for a car, on a monthly basis, and your rate reflected the “need” to make sure everyone else’s vehicles were covered for ANY service or repair regardless of them never doing ANY preventive maintenance or regular services...
Health insurance is regulated by the states. And you should hope it stays that way.
If you live in a "blue state" they probably have commies trying to kill the health insurance industry to make socialized medicine look good.
Maybe look at "medi-share" or get an HSA...or both.
