Thank you to one and all for your kind wishes and prayers.

The reason you didn't know about my chronic pain condition was because I choose NOT to make my life about my physical situation. I deal with it as best as I can. I am grateful to have the pain killers that keep everything beat down to a semi-manageable level. Too many through history had to live years or decades with chronic unmanageable pain without hope for relief. I don't.

Secondly, even if I did make my life about my pain, there is no reason to inflict my pain on you. Doing so would not make my life better and would make your lives worse. That would be immoral and unconscionable.

I have found intense intellectual focus and concentration on a subject, any subject, to be wonderful for banishing any residual pain. I was a notoriously poor student until some time in 5^th grade. I think the problem was that I was bored to tears. Then my learning hit critical mass and I was off to the races. I started reading everything I could get my hands on and never stopped. In addition to everything I read online and watch on YouTube, I still read 50-60 books a year on a variety of subjects.

If any of you are experiencing chronic pain, I recommend this as a way to get some pain relief without medication.

Grandma, is that you? I used to have dinner with my Grandmother every Tuesday night while I was in my second year of university. Near the end of the school year, I found out that she made dinner for us every week with a lot of arthritic pain in her hands. I was upset because she never once mentioned it, cancelled me, or let me help make dinner, and I asked her why she didn’t tell me how much pain she was always in. Her exact words were “Linda, just because you’re in pain doesn’t mean you have to be one.” She was Catholic and had 22 children. She was a very tough lady.
