What did she do? Use sheets with polyester in the fiber content? We are having houseguests next week. Washed all the bedding the past few days, and made up the bed last night. Now I’ll be second-guessing everything.

In Fort Meade? As opposed to ON Fort Meade? Perhaps merely near the Fort?
When I moved to Maryland in 2000, I looked at a seemingly very nice apartment complex very near the fort. I was warned, by a govt. source, to stay away. It turned out that law enforcement was frequently at the complex for various incidents including drugs, fights and domestic disturbances.
