I stand by my view that the police are mostly there to protect the crooks from the citizens. They don’t care so much about protecting citizens from the crooks. If the city has a crime problem, it’s a good thing! The city needs to spend more money on the police! The police like that. The police like the crooks more than they like citizens.
The police don’t work for the citizenry.
The police work for the people who can hire them and fire them. That would be the police chief and the mayor.
If the police chief and the mayor are corrupt, the police department will also be corrupt.
