Del hadn't even known his cover, done for the "Total Commitment" album was released in the Philippines, and was the #1 song of the year there.

As he got off the plane for a tour, there he was presented with a small orchestra, and he was only expecting a four piece band for his hits. He was shocked when he found out "Sunny" had hit huge there, and required the orchestral arrangement. He sold out three nights at 30,000 per night.

Del also had quite a few other cover songs that hit big there like “Lightning Strikes” and “Red Rubber Ball”. He stated that since he had all these hits that weren’t his own, he didn’t have the words memorized. While he was performing he had to have someone hold up cue cards with the lyrics!
