Many years ago I was working at a Sundry shop in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago. My co-workers were mostly Pilipino women. I mentioned to one woman in her late 30s (this was 1983) that I had heard Del Shannon used to be big there. She confirmed, and started singing "Time Won't Let Me". It's like the Del Shannon alternate universe.
