I have a television that can play 3D movies, and I recently checked out from my library a 3D version of the Wizard of Oz!

I have no idea how they did it, but it was crisper and more vibrant than any version I have ever seen, and it was in 3D.

Just amazing. Don’t know how they did it. Obviously, some digitalization and computer manipulation in some way, but it was not animated-it was the real movie, just in 3D.

That sounds pretty neat! I didn’t even know that existed.

I don't think the original was filmed in 3-D. My wife and I saw a version of the original Kiss Me Kate at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, Massachusetts about 15 years ago in 3D. It was filmed by polarization separation, not that cheesy red green crap. (Gravity was filmed using polarization separation.) Either reel is a stand alone film, so it can be played on a conventional TV. It was nicely done, with a lot of scenes making a lot more sense in 3-D.

How does 3-D television work? Do you need to wear 3-D glasses.

We had a 3D TV for a while with a very large flat screen. Every 3D movie I tried to watch on it would almost instantly cause me to fall asleep. It wasn’t because the movies were dull or anything either. It was something the 3D glasses did to my brain I think. We had the electronic type of 3D glasses, not the blue red kind. I couldn’t make it through any movies without falling asleep.

I wonder if other folks had the same problem?
