Someday, I need to watch the movie.
THIS may be the only reason I ever go to Las Vegas. I have always loved that movie. Once, when I was little, it aired on my birthday! A memorable birthday!
I think that would be cool. But I don’t plan on visiting since city anytime in the near future.

It was on tour last year, we saw it at the theatre on the big screen. It was wonderful.
I remember the Wizard of Oz was televised every year around Easter. My uncle had the first color TV in the neighborhood. My Dad and uncle moved the TV to uncle’s front porch. The mom’s made popcorn and kool-aid. Me and all my cousins and friends saw the Wizard of Oz in color for the first time on blankets in my uncle’s front yard.
The primary moral of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” is that the power and resources we seek are often already within us. Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion each believe they lack something essential (home, brains, heart, courage) but ultimately discover they possessed these qualities all along. The story also emphasizes the importance of self-reliance, friendship, and the idea that there’s no place like home.

This would be worth a trip to Las Vegas. Haven’t been there in at least 35 years.
“the most watched movie of all time” and it didn’t even do well at the box office when it was released in 1939.

Wizard of Oz was shot in Technicolor. The process simultaneously exposed three spools of film. One thru red, one blue and one thru green filters. The processed rolls then were dyed with cyan, yellow, and magenta dyes to create full color. Crazy process using massive cameras.
Wow, that is really fantastic! It would be fun to see that.
I came upon The Wizard of Oz while casually flipping through the channels.
It was broadcast using The Soap Opera Effect.
I was stunned. It looked like it was being broadcast Live.
I ran across this again on PLUTO TV.
They have Gunsmoke & Andy Griffith episodes which look like they are NEW. Even though I’ve seen every episode of these shows, you end up wanting to watch them again.
The technology of the time is part of the experience. They should leave the movie alone.
The audience at the showings are going to be something else: parents with kids entranced by the spectacle — and weirdo gays imagining that they are Dorothy and reciting her lines.
