Monday that he has always had a "great" relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but that he is "not so interested" in talking to Putin. He said a negotiated solution to the war in Ukraine will "still happen, but it's very late down the process." He repeated that he is "disappointed" with Putin and said that every time he thought the war might end, Putin "kills people."
Trump claimed that Putin talks about a trade deal with the US "all the time" and that Russia could be "so rich right now" if it was not spending "all its money on war." He said he "envisaged" trading with Moscow, including in rare earths, if Russia agreed to a peace process.

Trump shouldn’t have made the promises for peace he did in the first place but he can at least say at this point that the EU is taking on a larger burden of Ukraine’s defense spending.
Putin has told Ukraine in detail how to have peace and Ukraine prefers continuing the war.
You could have worded that post better, you ignored the post that I linked to and implied it was something that I said about Trump.
Yes, complete capitulation and the end of Ukraine as an independent country. Do not shift the responsibility of this war to Ukraine. They are fighting for their survival. This is all on Russia and Putin's dream of recreating an imperial Russia.
Well, you did mention Trump's vanity and how he has duped his base because he did not manage to end the war in Ukraine.
I can see why you have that opinion.
Trump is a realist. It's impossible for him to fulfill all of his campaign promises. But he did try to reach out to Putin.

Keep fighting and stop whining then.
FR Putinistas are already known.
Your #9 is perfect.

Wow, I shared that link with you because of what you had posted in post 5, and you couldn’t even take a moment to read it to see if it supported your post 5, and to see who had posted it?
You could have at least looked to see who wrote that post.
You just can't help yourself with the nonsense equivalence, can you?
Putin may have this fantasy of restoring the USSR footprint but I think he realizes this is a fantasy. His chief goal now seems to be simply “not losing.” There is no math where the economic costs Russia has born are ever going to make sense versus what they gain but now that it has gone this far there is no option in his mind to simply withdraw and sign a cease fire. He needs something more than control over the East which he largely had going in, something he could claim as a total victory.
It’s Trumps war now. He can do what he thinks is best.
It’s Putin’s war.
You obviously don’t have any point do you find it objectionable to say that I support my president Trump over the dictator of russia? Why does that bother you? It shouldn’t.
“This is all on Russia and Putin’s dream of recreating an imperial Russia.”
Irrelevant. This isn’t a movie, it’s a war happening in real time. No hero is riding in to save the day.
Completely relevant because it gives cause for the west to support Ukraine in its struggle. It destroys the ridiculous claims that Russia is being reasonable and thus the west should not oppose Russia.
Rubio met with Lavrov in Saudi Arabia in February. They were supposed to agree to an eventual ceasefire by Easter.
You are too petty to acknowledge your error, I see.
Trump vs. Putin
Time marches on but the Quisling Fifth Column just can’t help but support America’s enemies. They really need another hobby.
