You overlooked the facts; the United States has had significant national interests in the Middle East, predominately as a result of the United States rising to become a superpower during the period of the world wars. The world wide spread of communism locked down our involvement. It was not that we didn't even miss it when we left but that the United States adapted and adjusted to political and military realities. It argued against giving up Wheelus AFB and then acquiesced and Libya invited the Russians in. Do you have any idea how hard the United States worked to keep Russia out of the Mediterranean (the soft underbelly of Europe) while at the same time stationing hundreds of thousands of military personnel in Europe (which we largely paid for) ? So now you are authorized to write about "Europe, Europe, Europe."

I would say "had" rather than "has". We are an energy exporter now and the Cold War is long since over.

Since you continue to move the goalposts I will grant you Barack Hussein Obama. Of course that negates the "Israel, Israel, Israel" story you told earlier since Obama was also an adversary of Israel. Now you can write about Obama all you want and even sing his praises for ordering the killing of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.

You think the Israelis - and especially Netanyahu - haven't urged us to take out this regime and then that and to station troops and get involved in the Middle East over and over again? Of course they have. I don't hate them for it. In fact, I'm rather favorably disposed toward Israel unlike most Leftists....but that does not mean I think we ought to be constantly meddling and stationing troops throughout the Middle East.

No, it does not follow. You make assumptions and treat them as facts. Stick to theories about President Obama, and leave Prime Minister Netanyahu to the (aging) leftist Israelis who imagine he is waging war to remain in office.

We were also pulled into and set up for it by the Brits and other members of the Euro globalist overclass. We have been their suckers for over a hundred years now.

and the Cold War is long since over.

The facts suggest otherwise: Russia, China, and North Korea.

… and to station troops and get involved in the Middle East …

The facts are otherwise, staring us in the face. It is these countries that want United States military bases in their countries to protect them from their Muslim brothers.

The countries with the most US troops include Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

“”As to observations about Carlson’s Episcopalian upbringing, I refer to his own comments to the effect that the Anglican church meant to him something much less than muscular Christian faith.

If, repeat if, he had a conversion experience, one would assume some sort of departure from his earlier Episcopalian/Anglican exposure.””

Yes, I understand the speculation part. We are all here speculating and offering our opinions on issues, as well as sharing our insights (not necessarily facts) on current events.

I just watched a Carlson interview of Ana Kasparian (a progressive athiest affiliated with the progressive show, The Young Turks) and as they sat there and bashed Israel, I was forced to come to the conclusion that Carlson can’t possibly be a Christian with his apparent anti-Israel sentiments.

The episode itself was disgusting, as they sat there and called what Israel is doing disgusting. There was no question in their minds that the negative “news” was correct, and that Israel was guilty of deliberately bombing a Christian church. Absolute BS.

My take from it is... the only ephiphany that Tucker may have come to is the one where he officially realizes that he hates Israel and ergo, also hates Jews.... and where he is also, apparently, ignoring God’s word...ie the Bible... when it cautions against going Israel.

It’s bad enough to willfully believe the negative propaganda against Israel. But to use his “show” to push it further is, IMHO, a bridge way too far. Watching the podcast has only cemented my previous thoughts on Carlson. He is not to be trusted. On anything.

They were and still are opposites in almost every way.

The cause of the War was treason. The Confederates were not Abel to get thier way , so they had a sissy fit. If they had stayed in the Union, slavery would have lasted a lot longer. But, fulfilling Callhoun’s demonic dreams were more important.

The only treason to the constitution was by Lincoln. Preserving slavery was not the big concern of the Southern states. Had it been they could have simply accepted the Corwin Amendment which Lincoln pushed through and which he endorsed in his all important inaugural address.
