He was invited to launch the war. The reason we left Afghanistan in disgrace was to back and push this proxy war.

I have watched this from the beginning so I do not listen to BS and Biden “made up” info.

These stories about Trump’s “frustration” are getting old. We know. We’ve been hearing it for months. The more we get, the weaker it makes the Trump Administration look. Putin doesn’t care if Trump is frustrated. Putin is betting that Trump won’t escalate and he’s probably right. And Trump can’t sweet-talk or charm Putin into a peace deal. Trump needs to s___t or get off the pot.

My general impression is that Russia is trying to obtain buffer areas inside Ukraine.

“On the final day of the Conference, President Roosevelt announced that he and Churchill had decided that the only way to ensure postwar peace was to adopt a policy of unconditional surrender.”

“Roosevelt wanted to avoid the situation that had followed the First World War, when large segments of German society supported the position, so deftly exploited by the Nazi party, that Germany had not been defeated militarily, but rather, had been “stabbed in the back” by liberals, pacifists, socialists, communists, and Jews.”

““President Trump wasn’t joking about his Easter deadline to Putin.” - clownusmaximus”

LOL! I think the upcoming 100% tariffs on China will teach Americans a VERY IMPORTANT lesson, which is how reliant we are on China for virtually EVERYTHING. Trump learned a small part of that when he had to cancel his tariffs on cell phones and computers, but there is far more that will be affected, far, far, more.

When are we going to start bombing Moscow?

Trump offerred a big deal to someone who is not interested in whst he is dealing in. Deal something he really really wants. Like, the sudden need to feed all his people in order to stop his army from evaporating.

Obviously the only way this war ends is for Trump to meet Putin face to face. They get along famously with direct communications. But then if it has to be implemented by others, the deep state is even deeper in Russia — which we’ve seen in the US, subverts the intentions of the President.

Trump had a chance to just walk away from Ukraine, but it is now his war. He owns it.

desertsolitaire: "I wonder how the Dugins celebrate the murder of their daughter (killed by car bomb in Moscow)?
Must be sad."

Dugin was an early 1990s founder of Russia's National Bolshevik Party (NBP), which used both communist and Nazi symbolism, even practiced Hitler's sieg-heil-style salute, saying, “Da smert’” (“Yes, death”).

Young Dugin was an admirer of Himler and Goebbels, his party motto of “Russia is Everything, the Rest is Nothing!” mirrored Nazi ultranationalism.
He and co-founder Limonov romanticized authoritarianism, calling for a “fearsome, able-bodied and young,” savior figure to restore order.
Like Nazis, the NBP rejected Western liberalism and parliamentary democracy, favoring a strong, centralized state with revolutionary zeal.

Both Nazis and 1920s era Bolsheviks tried to create a “new human type,” but Dugin's NBP’s wanted more heroic martyrdom, militant youth, and nihilistic defiance -- which was more akin to Nazi Sturmabteilung than to Old Bolshevik proletarian idealism.
So, early NBP programs encouraged members to emulate Nazi leaders like Goebbels and Göring, not Lenin or Trotsky

It ended when Dugin left NBP in 1998, and with him went much of the NBP's Nazi-like fascism.
Dugin's new Eurasia Party (since 2002), has elected no members to the Duma, but is highly influential among Russia's military, government and media elites -- such as Vladimir Solovyov, though on occasion Dugin is even more radical than Solovyov himself.
For example, Dugin has openly called for genocide against Ukrainians and praised fascist regimes.

Left: Nazi flag1920s-1940s, Right: Dugin's NBP flag 1990s-2000s:

So, it's a little like those Iranian leaders howling "Death to America" and then feeling surprised when death rains down on themselves.

Karma is a b*tch!

marcusmaximus: "The 155mm cluster shells being sent by the U.S. have been the icing on the cake in decimating Putin’s Sumy offensive.
Along with the HIMARS that wiped out Putin’s entire Sumy offensive command leadership a few weeks ago.
All HIMARS strikes have to be pre approved by the U.S."

I doubt if every HIMARS strike is pre-approved by the US, except as a general category of targets.
IOW, Ukraine may submit a list of target categories and Washington will say "yes" or "no" to each category.
Once approved, individual strikes are at Ukraine's discretion.

For over a year now, Russian EW GPS jamming & spoofing have rendered HIMARS less effective than originally hoped.
For all that time, Ukrainian & Western techs have worked on ways to defeat Russia's EW jammers & spoofers.
So, your report here suggests that perhaps Ukrainians have found more success lately than in past months.

Spy vs. Spy:

HIMARS strikes on Russian territory are pre-approved. And there was no defense on the command post in Kursk that was struck killing the entire Sumy offensive command leadership. They weren’t expecting it and there were no countermeasures. They were tracked via WhatsApp and now there are reports Russia is banning the app effective August 1st.

US President Donald Trump is still interested in resolving the conflict in Ukraine ...

This has been a farce from the start. Trump has tried to position himself as some kind of "mediator" in the conflict while the U.S. has been firmly positioned on one side of it.

It's like playing the Super Bowl where the GM and front office staff for one of the teams claim they are qualified to be the officiating crew for the game.

Instead, we have conducted a foreign policy that is not only incoherent, it is a mishmash of flip-flops and bellicosity.

That's a natural feature of: (1) elected governance, and (2) a bankrupt empire.

THE END.

“”””Trump has tried to position himself as some kind of “mediator” in the conflict while the U.S. has been firmly positioned on one side of it.””””

Some here had completely forgotten that America has a side in this European invasion by our enemy Russia (now joined by North Korea), and that Russia and North Korea, Iran, Red China, are our enemies, some seemed to think that our weapons would be turned away from Russia and toward Ukraine and our European allies and friends and that we would be joining with Russia’s dictator in some new global alignment of those anti-America forces and America.

It has been bizarre watching these fantasies on a conservative form.
