Longevity depends a lot on a person’s genes.
My dad smoked 2 packs a day for decades and drank heavily into his late 40s, had high cholesterol, hypertension and heart disease, with a 4 way bypass along the way.
I never touched cigarettes ever, and low and behold, I have high cholesterol, hypertension and heart disease, with a Stent in 2016.

Yup. My in laws were the cleanest living people you could ever find. Both dead of cancer by the age of 50.
My ex wife’s aunt started smoking at 9. She smoked one after another till she died at 85. She was on oxygen the last 3 years of her life and was still smoking.
