President Trump on Sunday publicly demanded that the Washington Commanders change the team name back to the Redskins— labeling them derisively the “Washington Whatever’s.”
He also said the Cleveland Guardians should revert to being the Indians.
Both teams had rebranded several years ago due to concerns that their Native American-inspired names were offensive, but Trump argued that the pendulum has since swung back against political correctness.
“The Washington ‘Whatever’s’ should IMMEDIATELY change their name back to the Washington Redskins Football Team. There is a big clamoring for this,” Trump declared, unprompted on Truth Social Sunday.
“Likewise, the Cleveland Indians, one of the six original baseball teams, with a storied past,” the president went on. “Our great Indian people, in massive numbers, want this to happen. Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them. Times are different now than they were three or four years ago.”
“We are a Country of passion and common sense. OWNERS, GET IT DONE!!!”
In 2020, after long resisting pressure to do so, the Washington Commanders retired the old name, the Washington Redskins. For two years, they played as the Washington Football Team before eventually deciding to call themselves the Commanders in 2022.
The Cleveland Guardians announced plans to ditch its old name, the Cleveland Indians, in late 2020 — after dropping the “Chief Wahoo” logo years earlier.

Same for hollywood changing male characters to female and rewriting the tv series or movie yet use the same character names and much of the plots and chnaging them a bit and hating the military and white people and families and gay gay gay everywhere.
They reward those that make the changes. Example is the movie True Grit with John Wayne was the best but they remade the film and made colors muted and dreary and Jeff Bridges mumbled his way thru the film. The scenes were nearly the same so why bother? Just so they could try to erase John Wayne by giving Jeff Bridges an Oscar for a remake of a character he did not improve on.
The tv show Modern Family would have been funnier without the gay men who in later seasons adopted a little girl. BTW that little girl grew up and has announced she is now bisexual.
It can be subtle or in your face like the Marvel films, Star Wars, Star Trek etc. but the purpose is to erase what is good and replace with dystopia. Always with blaming those who created something by those that have not. Truth, Justice and not the American Way is their motto.
You cannot let the democrats make these changes and pull down our statues and remove free speech and jail opponents.

The Cleveland Indians were named for a star on Cleveland’s team in the early 1900s... The star was an INDIAN FROM THE PEBNOSCOTT TRIBE in Maine.
He says he might withhold Federal funds for the stadium if they don’t change it back.
Polls consistently showed huge majorities (90%) of Native Americans weren’t offended by the name. They were proud. Wanted it kept. But their white saviors/overlords weren’t going to allow that.
Who get to decide what offends a group of people or whether they’re oppressed? A bunch of woke whitefolk or the group impacted? If that’s what being an ally is, they need a lot fewer allies.
The Commanders is such a stupid name as well as the Guardians for the Indians.
Agree, Redskins and Indians are much much better.
Speak for yourself. President Trump can do more than one thing at at time.
The NFL brought this on themselves when they participated in the kneeling during the national anthem and going all woke. They celebrated having the first openly gay football player. Anybody religious was tossed out.
