Let the liberals pay for their own media. I fail to see why all taxpayers should subsidize their politics.
More commercials.
We all need to start asking the questions:
1. How many people are employed at these sob story NPR stations?
2. What are the salaries of said employees?
3. How much money do these sob story stations get from the Fed? And what percent of total cost of the station is paid by the Fed?
Cuts used to mean reductions in growth in fedspeak.
“”But some of those hardest hit by Congress’ decision last week to clawback $1.1 billion in federal funds are small radio operations that provide local news and information to rural communities.””
I don’t care. To me... talk radio is now dead, with the last bastion having been Dan Bongino after Rush passed. That’s the only reason I listened to radio. Now, it’s over. Let it be done.
Well, I think those people in Appalachia need to learn how to use the internet. They can just go here, “https://www.alleghenymountainradio.org” and read the news.
If this is so valued by the locals, let them chip in and make up the shortfall. People who receive “free money” rarely spend it wisely. Maybe they will restructure their spending and ask their listeners for the balance.
“Cuts to public media will smash budgets of some local radio stations”
so what: these local stations are the OUTLETS for NPR’s hard-leftist propaganda ...
and there are several solutions:
1. NPR can share more of the money they beg for with the locals ...
2. NPR and/or the locals can increase the amount of begging
3. NPR and/or local stations can seek paid ads like all the OTHER radio stations that they are now competing with on an even playing field
4. These stations can attempt to join a national radio network, leaving the bosom of NPR ..
and if none of that works, then folks simply aren’t willing to pay for their local propaganda ...
Gee. They make it sound as if the only thing left to listen to on the radio will b, ‘Big Mike 0bama’s’ failing podcast!
*BARF* NEVER!
If the Socialists need their daily dose of propaganda, they’ll find a way to get it. They don’t like having to PAY for anything WITH THEIR OWN MONEY though, so it’s gonna be tough sledding. *SMIRK*
Trying to care.
Just kidding.
I’m not trying at all.

I suppose some NPR-affiliated stations do some good. But so do bowling alleys. They provide a fun place for people to go and get some light exercise.
🎳
The government should not be subsidizing bowling alleys. And neither should the government be subsidizing NPR.
Side point: I’m a big fan of bocce ball. So I might make an exception there.
😀
“TRUTH IS A DISTRACTION”.
Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
In typical leftist fashion, CPB will cut off funds and shutdown these sob story stations just to make Trump look bad.
Even though CPB has been paying 65% of this sob story stations budget in the past.
Why, pray tell, are all the Democrat programs not profitable? If they worked, and were profitable, people would want the Democrat programs. Instead, all the Democrat programs suck the life from everything.
One is Allegheny Mountain Radio, a cooperative of three stations which cover Pocahontas County, West Virginia as well as Bath and Highland counties in Virginia. Allegheny Mountain is not an NPR member station, but it does run NPR's daily newscast, a quick run down of top stories.
Which are NOT politically biased, you knuckle-dragging, right-wing, conservative morons!
Sincerely, your betters at NPR.
Does anyone else remember the Air America radio network, which was openly liberal? They went out of business eventually. ,
So it makes you wonder, why was liberal talk radio not able to survive? Well conservative talk radio is able to survive in the capitalist market of radio stations?
Not biased at all with phrases like “clawback” to make it sound ominously predatory. Take your monotone butt on air and thank Americans for funding such trash over the years.
