Vegas used to be a fun, cheap place to go in the “old days” - hotel rooms were cheap, even the nice ones, the .99 buffets, shrimp cocktails and giant hot dogs. Always fun to walk around, felt completely safe.
Not so anymore. I consider it a very dangerous place especially after the sun goes down.
Took some relatives there a couple of years ago from the East Coast - they wanted to go downtown for some reason, which we did. Many “hip-hop” buskers “breakdancing,” etc. Didn’t like the crowd and couldn’t wait to get out of there. Relatives said they’d never go back.
Last time (and I also mean the last time I will ever go) we went I was shocked at the sheer number of homeless. I noticed unlike many cities there is no “area” for homeless. You can drive 4 miles from the city center in any direction and look up any random alley and see 1-2 or more homeless.
LV claimed like 70,000, which is like Bondi and Patel saying there is “no list” with the Epstein case.
The Mafia still ran Vegas when I visited with some buddies in the mid-70s.
EXTREMELY safe. The mob didn’t put up with petty criminals.
