JUST IN: Ken Paxton’s Wife Announces Divorce in Shock Statement — Citing ‘Recent Discoveries’

Texas State Sen. Angela Paxton (R) announced on Thursday that she has filed for divorce from her husband, Texas Attorney General and Senate candidate Ken Paxton (R) after “recent discoveries.”

“Today, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds. I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation. But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage,” Angela Paxton wrote on X. “I move forward with complete confidence that God is always working everything together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.”

Paxton said she filed for divorce on “biblical grounds,” which would primarily refer to adultery or abandonment.

The Texas Attorney General released his own statement, pointing blame at “countless political attacks and public scrutiny.”

“After facing the pressures of countless political attacks and public scrutiny, Angela and I have decided to start a new chapter in our lives,” he wrote. “I could not be any more proud or grateful for the incredible family that God has blessed us with, and I remain committed to supporting our amazing children and grandchildren. I ask for your prayers and privacy at this time.”

Ken Paxton is currently running for U.S. Senate for the seat held by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). Paxton was elected attorney general in 2015. In 2023, the Texas House of Representatives impeached him over corruption allegations. He was later acquitted by the state Senate where his wife did not participate in a vote, though she attended the Senate trial.

Paxton was accused of using his position to help a real estate developer and he was also accused of an extramarital affair at the time.

KUT News out of Austin, Texas reported on Thursday that they obtained a copy of Angela Paxton’s divorce filing and it accuses her husband adultery and reveals they stopped living together in 2024.

“The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation,” reads the petition, according to the report.

He told his wife that the affair was over, then resumed it.

I came across this question in an interview before she married Trump about Leona Helmsley of all people:

” You’ve been painted as one of Donald Trump’s Seven Deadly Sins, a gold-digging hussy living high on Trump’s hog. Leona Helmsley said: “Trump’s favorite charity is Marla; last year, she earned $1,100 and spent $400,000. She sure makes a buck stretch.”

I didnt know Marla had an abortion

“If you were managing a political campaign and you had strong evidence that your opponent committed adultery, would you use that against them?”

Depends. If I were to strongly condemn the opponent, I would have to measure it with the knowledge that I would be judging and condemning many voters who have done/are doing the same thing and they might just be offended by that.

“Whelp, that won’t help his Senate run.”

Too early - the Dems should have had her hold off a bit longer. Cornyn is still toast.

I’d still vote Paxton if I could. I think the wife is trying to paint herself superior, when she is not.

Texas Tribune, September 11, 2023. Missy Cary had been Paxton’s Chief of Staff:

Cary testified that her knowledge of the alleged affair all began in the spring of 2018 when she was eating lunch alone at Galaxy Cafe in Austin. She overheard a woman next to her having a conversation that troubled her, suggesting the woman was conveying “very personal” information about Ken Paxton. Cary said she took her concerns to the attorney general, who said the woman was the real estate agent selling his condo in Austin.

But later that spring, Cary said she saw the same woman at an official event in San Antonio and saw her name tag: Laura Olson.

Cary said she then learned about the relationship from other people in the office and felt “surprised” Paxton had lied to her about who Olson was. The relationship was impacting staff morale, Cary added, with Angela Paxton calling the office to try to track down her husband and staffers feeling “uncomfortable answering those questions.”

Cary eventually had a meeting with Paxton where they discussed the legal and “ethical implications of a secret affair,” she said. Cary said they discussed that such conduct could “open one up to bribery and misuse of office” — allegations at the center of his impeachment.

In that meeting, Cary said Paxton confirmed he was having an affair but did not say whether it was with Olson. He was “contrite and he listened to what I had to say very carefully,” Cary recalled.

In September 2018, Paxton and his wife convened a meeting with top aides where he confessed to the affair, Cary said. She described it as an awkward and emotional meeting. Angela Paxton was “sad and embarrassed” and cried, Cary said. Cary said she hugged Angela Paxton and told her she was sorry this had happened to her.

After that meeting, Cary said, she believed such behavior was “out of [Paxton’s] life for good.”

But months later in 2019, Cary said, Paxton told her the affair was continuing. Cary said Paxton expressed that he “still loved Mrs. Olson” and wanted Cary, as the chief of staff, to “be more accommodating” of it when it came to things like his security detail.

Feel free to vote for him. Does it make his flaws less odious if you drag down Angela Paxton?

You sound desperate.

“She is also an elected politician, and we know they are all lecherous, corrupt liars.” I don’t know any such thing.

“This is from Mediate, a far, far leftist blog.”

Dear Lord, not THAT old lame excuse. Half the article is direct quotations, and the other half is statements of public record, such as him being impeached.

Why, oh why, do some folks think that it’s media bias, when the story is corroborated by dozens of other news sources? If you Google “Paxton divorce,” there are at least ten pages of stories on it. (I stopped counting at that point.) If you can find one account that contradicts the one I posted from evil Mediaite, please share it with us.

“....after “recent discoveries..”

What makes you think she didn't discover she is really a man trapped in a woman's body.

What was she promised and by whom?

Glad to see everyone here blame Ken before we even know what the complaint is and she is a politician.

I’ll not criticize Angela Paxton for divorcing her husband.

They haven’t lived together for likely at least one year; and he did cheat on her in a very public way.

AND she was decent enough to not wait until the election season.

Any criticism of Angela is simply uncalled for. Ken created his own problems and bad decisions should have consequences. Angela is the victim in this divorce; not Ken Paxton and his supporters.

Yea. Divorce is allowed in cases of adultery. Regardless of the length of the marriage.

Sure, Jesus gave them an out. But he doesn’t require it. In fact he hates divorce. Instead of running to divorce, we should be running towards grace, forgiveness, and restoration.

If I remembered correctly, David Axelrod made sure the divorce records were unsealed.

The Illinois Republican Party refused to back Fitzgerald because he wouldn't play ball with the corrupt Republican Party.

Jesus did not come to us so that we could betray and abuse our wives and children with no accountability.

The mistress isn’t much to look at either.

Platinum blondes haven’t been around much since Jean Harlow, so I guess she’s got that going for her.

That is EXACTLY what I have been saying, and THAT is why the Illinois Republican Party is responsible for Barack Obama.
