“We used to just call it INCOMPETENCE.”
That’s the endpoint, but someone caused the DEI to be put there. That’s nothing less than EVIL.

Company needs to provide mechanics with wrenches and loctite. No.
Not loctite; that's just not trustworthy.
Torque wrenches, safety wire, and appropriate hardware for safety wire.

Army helicopter pilots are enlisted. My experience is limited ... but every Army helo pilot I ever met was a Warrant ... I understand some are commissioned.

No.
Safety wire.
1) It doesn’t break. It has to be cut. This facilitates maintenance. Once the wire is cut, removing the bolt/nut is relatively easy.
2) It’s easy to visually inspect. The wire is either there ... or it’s not. It’s either properly installed ... or it’s not. And if it is properly installed, that bolt/nut is not moving.
Loctite is appropriate in some places. Aircraft are not one of those places. The operator(s) of this R66 helo screwed up. Badly. Those bolts should have been torqued and wired. They’re lucky they didn’t kill anybody.

I’ve never been to Destin, but if I wanted to view timber. I would just go to Lowe’s or Home Depot. Or walk in the woods to see unprocessed timber.
To: BobL
Guy said “click” every time he fingered in a bolt. Seems legal.
It’s not rocket surgery, it’s flight mechanicing.
To: DIRTYSECRET
Army pilots are both commissioned and warrant officers.

Safety wire, cotter pins or self locking nuts (not reusable) on all fasteners.
To: NorthMountain
To: ebshumidors
Because we want to be sure that nut that ain’t moving ... didn’t move.
