Do it - It's well worth it. You'll recognize so many things; not much has changed in 80 years.
I was a young man when feminism became a thing. It seemed perfectly reasonable to support equity for women. I now look back and realize feminists have become the chauvinist pigs and are just as oppressive (if not more so) than the men they rebelled against. Things have gotten worse under the tyranny of feminism who like in Animal Farm have changed into what they once hated...
Exactly why we need term limits
Cue Frank Sinatra’s tune That’s Life
I read Animal Farm in high school as an assignment and thought it was a good book. I read it to my son while homeschooling, and man did it hit hard.
It’s a quick read and so well done. You will never forget it.
That was the original assumption of Tolkien’s words, “made in the mockery of elves”
There are two possible interpretations to the phrase “mockery of elves”. The first is that Morgoth, the original bad guy, corrupted actual elves. The other interpretation is that he tried to copy what Eru did, when he created elves, and used some other source as a basis for his creation, and created a bad copy, similar to when a 5 year old child tries to make a copy of Rembrandt.
The actual biological source of orcs may not be elves at all, but just were Morgoth’s attempt to create his own version of them. Although there is no reason that the original attempts may have involved elves, but elves may not have been the source of all orcs because orcs reproduce quickly and elves don’t. Elven reproduction seemed to be geared towards just replacing themselves as they die off 1-1.
As your mind matures and you live life, many books than really become apparent to you as to their true meaning.
