The Wall Street Journal Welcomes Kash Patel and Dan Bongino to the ‘Rotten Establishment ‘Amid MAGA’s Epstein Civil War

The Wall Street Journal welcomed FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino to the “rotten establishment” in a new editorial about the ongoing MAGA civil war over the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

On Sunday night, a Department of Justice and FBI memo concluding that Epstein did, in fact, commit suicide and there was “no incriminating ‘client list'” or “credible evidence … that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals” was reported on by Axios to the dismay of many of President Donald Trump’s biggest fans.

“I’m going to go throw up actually. And this only happens every few years when something really, really bad happens or something,” said conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in a reaction video to the memo on Monday. “I mean, I’m physically gonna puke, probably right now.”

“How come Blondi [Attorney General Pam Bondi] didn’t sign her name to her own memo about the Epstein Files? She needs to resign. This is going to suppress the vote in 2026,” wrote Laura Loomer on X. “The American people and MAGA base will not tolerate being lied to. I hope President Trump fires Pam Blondi if she lacks the SHAME to resign. I called for her resignation the day of Binder Gate. 5 months later and Blondi is still an abomination. Epstein raped kids on her watch when she was FL AG. Is this what this is about? Her horrendous professional record?”

The Journal kicked off its editorial on the subject by observing that “These are boom times for conspiracy theorists, and one problem is they’re never satisfied.”

“There’s always another coverup to unravel, or another hidden file somewhere that the evil establishment is hiding. That’s what Trump Justice Department officials are learning to their dismay now that they’re trying to close the books on the prosecution and death of Jeffrey Epstein,” it continued.

After summarizing the DOJ memo, the influential center-right newspaper concluded that “There’s a lesson here for partisans who think they can ride conspiracies to power. They can easily boomerang on you once you’re in a position to see the real evidence and then have to convince a public that doesn’t trust anyone in power. Welcome to the rotten establishment, Mr. Patel and Mr. Bongino.”

It’s tiresome to read whining complaints about news media whose articles DIRECTLY QUOTE THEIR SOURCES.

My discontent was sown by the Justice Department’s two page memo on Epstein—not media accounts of it.

You have read it—right?

As I posted here yesterday, I am currently of the opinion that memos like the one you linked to are a part of a deep-state psyop to undermine and discredit President Trump's top Cabinet officials.

I will continue to remain skeptical of all pronouncements made under the banner of intelligence agencies for the time being.

Let us be absolutely clear.

You are claiming that a document on the DOJ web site is fake in some way?

Seriously?

This is OJ attorney level spinning.

You can call the DOJ press office and verify its authenticity if you wish.

Their phone number is on their web page.

Not fake, but maybe unauthorized?

Nobody claimed that the leaked Fordow strike low-confidence assesment was fake, but it was an unauthorized release.

However, this memo is unsigned, meaning that nobody has put their name behind it.

I will say this much... AG Bondi said this morning in the Cabinet Meeting that is going on right now that they are looking for other videos to see if the missing one minute at midnight is present in other videos, so she does seem to be aware of this, or at least aware of the videos referenced in the memo.

If it is “unauthorized” Bondi can find a microphone somewhere in DC to repudiate it.

Lol.

Wonder how many people would die if Epstein’s list of names are exposed?.

Powerful people don’t play games they play for keeps.

The names are very useful to the feds.

No, Kennedy doesn’t ring a bell.

What DOES ring a bell is this:

And you know, we’re going to go through it, go through as fast as we can, but go through it very cautiously to protect all the victims of Epstein, because there are a lot of victims,” she added.

“Well, you had identified in phase one over 254. Now, is that the only thing that would be redacted? Will everything else be made public that you get in your possession?” Hannity asked.

“Yeah, the FBI hasn’t had– obviously they haven’t looked at the thousands of pages of documents that they’ve just received Friday. Kash has a team going through them, and it’s always about protecting the victim. But you know what, we believe in transparency, and America has the right to know. The Biden administration sat on these documents. No one did anything with them. And why were they sitting in the Southern District of New York? I want a full report on that. Sadly, these people don’t believe in transparency. But I think more, unfortunately, I think a lot of them don’t live in honesty. And it’s a new day. It’s a new administration. And everything’s going to come out to the public. The public has a right to know. Americans have a right to know,” Bondi insisted.

No victims of Epstein case EVERYBODY knew exactly what the hell they were doing and why money and sex made the deals.

Transparency doesn’t exist when securty is involved the names on the list may have done more danger then they knew.

No, Kennedy doesn’t ring a bell.
How much transparency do you have in the JFK killing???????

It's called institutional gatekeeping.

It's what has kept the CIA out of the Kennedy Assassination for over half a century.

There have been bad actors and good actors in a lot of administrations, mostly bad, since the JFK assassination.

All have towed the institutional gatekeeping line.

They were convinced by those in the shadow gubmint which is the military intelligence complex that it would harm the country to shine a light on what the CIA knew and when it knew what it knew. That and the elitist condescending attitude that the American people cannot handle the truth.

Well the JFK assassination was so long ago and most decision making parties are dead, that some minor stuff is leaking through the cracks although one has to believe all the substantive stuff has been shredded and scrubbed.

The problem here is that all this Epstein stuff is relatively fresh and there are significant parties still living and holding significant positions that are vulnerable.

All roads now lead to Trump and that place where the buck supposedly stops.

Has he fallen into the trap of being an institutional gate keeper?

I fear he has.

He wants this to go away, but in some ways it was Trump who put legitimate questions back in the national dialogue although Elite Stream Media has tried to dismiss such questions as "conspiracy" theories.

Not with Epstein but with JFK and even a few vague references to 9/11.

Well, he's hunky dory with the Saudis now which I'm not altogether against, but as I remember it was him in his 2016 campaign that made those vague references in what I believe was the South Carolina primary debate.

I have seen this movie before.

It seems those of us in the MAGA movement are being told what Jake was told at the end of the movie Chinatown, The last line of the movie Chinatown is: "Forget it, Jake; it's Chinatown." The line emphasizes the futility of Jake's actions and the corrupt nature of the world he inhabits, suggesting that some things are best forgotten.

In other words move along, nothing to see here.

Your post was not addressed to me but I will take a stab at the “180”.

In the late winter and Spring Bondi is writing checks before she has any idea whether they will clear or not (dumb mistake, one reason I want her gone). She is making wild promises about “transparency” and releasing information in the future from the “truckload of Epstein files”.

When Kash and Bondi get into the weeds they find out that several foreign leaders are already secretly in our pocket—perhaps because of the Epstein files.

Some are valuable assets in different countries—and some might even face execution if the blackmail files are released.

Now they have a big problem.

Bondi was not smart enough to think events might go there.

So—she gets to be hung out to dry.
