DALLAS - The Dallas Cowboys on Sunday announced they were making a donation towards flood recovery efforts in Central Texas.

In a social media post, the team said they were donating $500,000 to go toward resources for rescue, relief and recovery.

What they're saying:

"Our hearts are heavy as we witness the devastation and loss of life caused by the floods in Kerr County and Texas Hill Country, especially for the young girls and their families, as well as all of those lost and their loved ones," the team said on Facebook. "This has been devastating to see, and we hold everyone impacted in our thoughts and prayers."

I will always be anti Dallas Cowboys, but good for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.

I read an article this morning where everyone was bashing the Cowboys for making such a tiny donation. People suck.

500K? Peanuts for them. Try 2-3 million for starters.

You would think they could at least match what their quarterback gave to Black Lives Matter.

The only team that wanted to back law enforcement during the defund the police idiocy with a helmet sticker and the nfl said no......that’s why it’ll be a cold day before that woke league gets one dime outta me.

Good for the Cowboys organization.....shame on the Houston team and the rest of the nfl if they don’t follow suit.

500K is a good donation. More than that and it opens the door for every little group to start asking for help and you get into quicksand. Others are helping as well, check out what HEB is doing.

It does seem small for a wealthy organization, especially when you consider the league minimum salary for rookies is over $800k.

I guess it’s better than nothing, but this was an exceptional catastrophe.

So you would rather see them give nothing? Easy to be generous with other people's money.

that is the FR way

Not a good way ...

I know ... I've done it too.

Don't read the article, or other comments ... don't even look at the posting date ... just knee-jerk reaction to the headline.

We should strive to do better.

And endeavor to persevere ...

Gov. Abbott has declared at least 20 counties as disaster areas. While I understand why Kerr county is getting all the headlines, other counties have been just as devastated+3
6 with lives lost and homes carried away.
