It’s been a major source of anxiety for retired people for decades now. If others in your county elect a Democrat, you can bet your tax bill will go up, with nothing to show for it but more DEI programs and graft.

“I’ve read it three times and still don’t understand it. Something to do with the Byrd Rule.”
Nothing to do with the Byrd rule.

A case could also be made that seniors shouldn’t have to pay property taxes because they don’t have kids in public schools anymore. That makes perfect sense at least for the school district portion of the property taxes.

“Will this be like his promise of no tax on SS?”
Geez.
For the hundredth time, changing laws requires 60 votes to stop senate filibuster. We don’t have the votes.

“Americans have been screaming about and demanding property tax relief for many decades, probably before DeSantis was born.”
But DeSantis is doing something! Just like the Aligator Alcatraz!
Make America Florida!

“Most states use property tax “
Property taxes stay at the local level in most states.

Promise made.
Promise alleged to have been completed.
But, just NOT.

No income tax and no property tax? Would the Florida sales tax end up at 25%? Or are they just going to raise alligator license fees again?

No, he put forth a policy.
In some lame implementation, The GOPee gave me a Soup Nazi salute [No relief for YOU!].
To the extent Trump’s minions claim that the promise is now kept? Then, yep, they are lying.
I don’t think I have yet heard Trump say it was done as promised.

Not saying teachers do not get lavish salaries but a lot of them seem to have to buy school supplies for the young students. This seems ridiculous .

It’s just the facts, ‘mam...
When I first heard the proposal, I was amazed.
It sounded too good to be true.
Good thing I didn’t act on it.
As far as I can tell, I’m getting nothing out of it.
It’s a disappointment, but as long as Trump doesn’t say he ended SS income taxation, I’ll be fine.

You don’t have to tax people into oblivion to get their money.......let them keep it and they will gladly infuse the economy with what they have......a little fact that has escaped democrats since the beginning of time.

Wife and I are getting $48k in deductions over four years. That is about $10k in the pocket.
Plus tax rates not going up.

To: Irish Eyes
Not teachers! Union bosses and administrators. Teacher just get Cadillac health care - everything covered and no copays.
