Brawls, assaults, drunken fights, boots on the grounds and fans in hands just might have Carnival Cruise Line saying, "Enough is enough!" And some Black passengers are returning the favor, cancelling their existing reservations or cancelling the cruise line all together because they deem their new rules are racist. But some argue, "Are the new policies racist, or just restrictive?"
The discourse began after Carnival — who has the most allegations of serious crimes committed at sea than any other cruise line sailing from North America, per the FBI — implemented new rules. According to reports, as of June 1, Carnival passengers received a new letter to reinforce their guidelines and code of conduct.

This regards Carnival. We took a cruise out of Miami on MSC. It was pretty nickel-and dimey but otherwise we enjoyed it. And we went because friends on a tighter budget booked it.
We recently took a Celebrity cruise out of Port Canaveral. We were a little worried at the port we saw large numbers of 13ers congregating. Fortunately, the vast majority of them got on the Carnival ship docked next to us. Our cruise was 98% non-diverse, an older crowd, and it was very nice!
Most blacks aren’t like that. But the sub group is.
Sounds like the folks cancelling are exactly the individuals they prefer stay home so others will keep coming.
We’ve left out of Galveston the two Carnivals we’ve been on. No problems at all.
The ship rules are white behavior rules. Why shouldn’t they think that it’s racist to behave differently than in the hood?
Addition by Subtraction
Agreed. It’s not like the cruise line is forcing passengers to pass a swim test.
Carnival Cruise Lines has grown tired of being the “Section 8 of the Seas.”
The Spirit Airlines of the Seas.
Aww, Gee Whiz,
Yo! Ah’m Ju’lia, yo cruise director. Welcome to another edition of Thunderboat,” Dis be Thunderboat, death is listening and will take the first man that scream”. Good luck y’all.
In America it is impossible to have a conversation about anything without someone self-victimizing because they are black, latino, female, homo, Jewish, Muslim, old, young, poor, single mother...
Sorry if you’re Catholic, white, male, hetero, or a vet, you don’t get to be offended.
It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about Crayons, someone will figure out how to be offended: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUrUo2wESdM
Blacks in Africa often had ancestors who sold the ancestors of the American blacks to slave traders.
No More Bluetooth Speakers
Carnival has reinforced rules against guests playing their own music loudly in public areas, including by the pools and hallways. While ostensibly for everyone's comfort, many Black passengers feel this rule is selectively enforced against them. They argue that other groups might play different genres of music without facing the same level of scrutiny.
The issue, to me, has never been about selective enforcement of personal music at the pool or other venues; it's been that the ship provides its own entertainment at those same venues, with hired bands to perform for all. A cruise ship is not each person's private yacht for them to play the music of their choice.

In this day and age of bluetooth headphones, AirPods, etc, if one insists upon using a Bluetooth speaker, it is not about the music. It is about someone who's pronouns are: Me, Myself and I.
“non-battery fans”? “Where them fans at?”
Sounds like Cruise of the Damned.
