President Trump expressed dismay with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin early Friday, admitting that the Kremlin tyrant has no interest in stopping his bloody war on neighboring Ukraine anytime soon.
“I’m very disappointed with the conversation I had [Thursday] with President Putin because I don’t think he’s there. I’m just saying, I don’t think he’s looking to stop, and that’s too bad,” Trump told reporters after returning to Washington following a pre-Independence Day event in Iowa.
“It’s [former President Joe] Biden’s war, and I got stuck in the middle of it, just like I did with immigration and a lot of other things that they screwed up,” he went on. “But I was not happy with the conversation.”

I’ve never been under the impression that Putin wants this war to end.

Well the US spent $5B on the coup in 2014, has written/published policy papers about destroying Russia to get at their natural resources they have. Look at the 7 countries the West destroyed in the middle east - what do they all have in common? Oil... A lot of the interest here comes from the UK (not really a US ally - interfered in the election that put Biden in power). Old UK colonial habits have not really died. I’m just not on board with stealing oil from poor people.

A good thing. Most know Ukraine is cooked. Kiev and hundreds of Ukie cities are getting hammered with record nightly strikes ( largest during the war-5-600 nightly).They simply have no adequate AA left. Vlad still holds all the cards.

Matters little, Vlad is accomplishing everything he stated. It may not suit some, but at this point Ukraine is toast, St Z either submits to territorial losses, or ceases to exist as a nation.

Actually, Putin holds to the theory pushed by Alexander Dugin that Russia is in a perpetual conflict with the Atlantic powers (the US and Britain). This idea has nothing to do with any recent "provocations" by NATO. Following this theory, he also believes that the mere existence of Ukraine is an invention of the west aimed at Russia. As for the NATO provocations, Ukraine has constantly been blocked from NATO membership, and the Europeans have allowed their militaries to atrophy to such an extent that even Trump has complained. They posed no threat to Russia.
