It's essentially true in that - Russia indirectly helped American ships trade freely during the revolution against the British.
- Russia tried to mediate the American Civil War and supported the Union.

Putin cans say what he wants about how our country came about. It’s what has happened since then that matters. If Russia were governed differently, maybe it could be just like the U.S. & Putin would have no need of saying what he did. We didn’t set out to be a socialistic nation like Russia did at one point.
