Oh, no! Not again? How many have tried and failed? Wasted money, AGAIN!
👍
My guess, as well...
In later years, the Nips did eat downed B-29 pilots...
Alive...
HEY!!
Whatcha got against the Loch Ness monster? I think he’s really COOL! (and so does the Scottish Tourist Promotion Board)
Nah.....the water is warm down there.
When it comes to when it comes to Scotland’s most lucrative marketing schemes,
Nessie has KILT it!
Awful!
Nah.....the water is warm down there.
I don’t think they believe she could still be alive. They want to find and verify the wreckage. Maybe find more bones that could still contain some DNA.
Interesting story, whatever they do or don’t find.
🙄😁
Ding Ding Ding
Geraldo leading the expedition
As much as I am an aviation fan, I wish Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan could rest in peace.
It’s already been found. https://www.express.co.uk/news/history/2077220/amelia-earhart-lost-plane-found-secluded-island
The engine is what I would be searching for, off the steep shelf.
That’s the object that is spurring the Purdue expedition.
An interesting video recap of what’s been found since 1937. It’s length is 13:45 but I found it easy to listen to at 1.5 speed, accessed by clicking on the gear icon...
This video [2025] is a statement by Dr. Richard Pettigrew, Executive Director of Archaeological Legacy Institute. The Taraia Object is a recently discovered visual anomaly in the Nikumaroro Island lagoon in the south Pacific Ocean. The Object is visible in satellite images, decades-old aerial photos, drone footage, and video footage of the lagoon. Its location is directly opposite the Tatiman Passage, which connects the lagoon to the open ocean.
Our research strongly suggests that the Taraia Object is the wreckage of the Lockheed Model 10 Electra aircraft that carried Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan during their 1937 attempt to fly around the world. Identification of the Taraia Object, and possible confirmation that it is the remains of the Electra, will require a small field research team to visit Nikumaroro for direct examination. This inspection could conclusively solve the Earhart mystery. Dr. Pettigrew requests financial support for this fieldwork.
