BBC: 'With the passage of this bill, Trump is on a roll'
BBC (Live Page) ^ | July 3 | Gary O'Donoghue

The passing of this bill goes well beyond the sum of its parts for Donald Trump.

Yes, it solidifies some of his key aims around tax cuts and immigration policy, but it also represents a crowning moment for his total control of the Republican party in Congress, and the country.

Despite objections from hard-right members of the Freedom Caucus and from other, vulnerable Republicans in competitive districts, he's persuaded some to go against lifelong principles of fiscal conservativism, and others to put their very political survival in their districts in severe jeopardy.

Add to this a slew of other wins in recent days at Nato: on the Middle East, and on economics numbers, and it's hard not to acknowledge that this president is on a roll - and it's a big one.

yeah, Green New Deal, Electric-Only transportation, clamping down on disinformation on safe and effective orders, Take down the wall. inviting China and India to gorge on American jobs and offshoring manufacturing opportunities. Everyone other than North Americans welcome to come and enjoy taxpayer funded everything, questionable and predictable mail-in and electronic ballot cheating. He was definitely on a roll. Like a rolling pin and we were the pizza dough.

Referring to the rulings of the Senate Parliamentarian, the following:

“Yes, the Senate can vote to essentially overrule the Parliamentarian’s recommendation, although this would likely take 60 votes, in order to waive the point of order. The parliamentarian is appointed by the Secretary of the Senate, with the Senate Majority Leader’s approval”

50 Senate votes or 60 required to remove & replace? I do not know.

I found this. It sounds like it is easy to replace. Does Thune have the spine to do it?

The parliamentarian is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Senate majority leader.

If the Big Beautiful Bill is so bad why don’t the democrats want it to pass.

They’ve done everything the could to damage Trump why not this.

Logic and reason results it’s a good long term idea the results can work toward the deficit paying plan.

Let’s fire the Senate Parliamentarian and replace her with a MAGA hat-wearing America First loyalist. Harry Reid put his puppet in that role, so why can’t we?

Now let’s put through a series of bills passing the DOGE list through Congress.

Let’s pay down the debt, starting by paying what we owe to China.
