It ought to be much cooler down there, a big plus in Bakersfield in the summer.

Sounds like a solid plan to save money.

The view wouldn’t be great, but hey, you make yourself get out more.
I want to see the house that this thing is on the property with.

Bakersfield city council voting to declare below ground bunkers tax value at 1.5x the above ground value in 3, 2, 1....
Some people just can’t keep their mouths closed - gotta do that ‘Look At Me’ bit.

Might be quite cozy. As long as the previous... occupants... don't mind you moving in!

My first reaction was “no windows?”. But that could be solved by cameras above ground transmitting to wide screen tvs down below. Would be just like a window. I could do this. Probably could blast a stereo and no one could hear or be bothered.

When the big one hits, her rent will go up AND she will have many roommates.

I used to live in Bakersfield. There was one house in the cul de sac next to us that had a "basement" in it. Only one I've ever seen in Bakersfield. The ground is a sandy, loamy soil that doesn't bode well for underground structures.
Yeah, not too many basements in California.

Caitlin’s friend, moved into the property in 2022 and discovered it had an underground bunker originally built by the previous owner....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the friend bought this property and didn’t know it had a bunker until it was accidentally ‘discovered’?? There are definitely some questions associated with that....
