Wearing a lab coat is an “appeal to authority” argument.

It doesn’t make one smarter or wiser, it’s just a “look at my diploma and do what I say”.

They received no deference or respect because everyone assumed they were just actors filming the umpteenth Big Pharma commercial.

I recall a similar gathering at the White House to promote Obamacare. It turned out that some of those in white coats were not even in the medical field. Perhaps someone renembers this and can post a picture or video?
