“We have weathered the storms of life pretty well together.”

Butting in, as usual! I had to wait until I was 50 to find a decent man. We just had a lovely conversation the other night that while we’re 15 years into this, and we’re both kind of falling apart in places, we are both so GRATEFUL that we’ll have one another in our Golden Years to rely upon.

Always thought I would be 100% on my own when I divorced after a way-too-long marriage to a bad man. NEVER thought I would finally find happiness, peace, peace of mind, stability, etc. later in life.

So, don’t give up, Ladies! That guy that has always been on the periphery of your life as, ‘just a friend’ should garner a second look! :)

God works in mysterious and amazing ways! Loved your line about, ‘I held on to him for Dear Life!’ *HEART*

Diana and Beau, I’ll bet you’ve heard this song before. It always gets me. ❤️

Bless the Broken Road
Rascal Flatts

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to you

That every long-lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Yes, He did

I think about the years I spent just passin’ through
I’d like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there, you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long-lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Yeah

And now I’m just a-rollin’ home
Into my lover’s arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, mm, mm.

Metal beds are in place & hemmed in with landscape timbers. I left room at one end for bed #4 that is still at the old place. My brother thought he'd dug them all up - missed the 4th because it was overgrown with weeds on the outside & herbs on the inside!

I used landscape timbers because it gives me a hard, solid edge to weed eat & mow against, plus it hides a few spots where the bottom edge of the metal is bent from being pried out of the ground. The beds are spaced about 10" off the barn, using bricks for spacers. Between the shingles & landscape fabric, the weeds should be minimized.Beds are 3'x6' & 12" deep. I'll probably fill them to 10". Love my (electric) chainsaw - perfect for cutting the timbers.
