my dad was his campaign manager when he thought about congress.
my family was racing NHRA since the 60s. there’s a pic of me somewhere in our aa/fc when i was 10, in the pits, on the jacks, its running, and i’m holding the brake (i grew up breathing nitro every summer weekend in new england)
that was the 70s / 80s.
parents today would flip seeing half the things we did back then.
if you had spent any time in racing, you’d understand how exceedingly rare a black guy is in the sport.
if you’re wondering, there’s only ever been ONE black F1 driver. ONE.
which is why it stood out... it’s that ridiculous.
and he had his mother with him in the office? are you kidding?!
Everything has been blackified. The rare TV commercial featuring white actors, will many times have a black narrator/voice over. And it’s increasing, not abating. You will also note that Asians are now in at least 50% of commercials. Way exceeding their actual demographic which about 5%.
I have trouble coming up with a BAD Brad Pitt film....can’t think of one!!
Is it about the Saturn V’s first stage engine?
No.....but it is about fast stuff...............
Thanks - but I said a BAD movie of his...not a list of all his movies..
The budget is 200M, with marketing, the investment is well north of 300+ million...The film has to make about 600 million to break a profit...I don’t see that happening.
That was so you could scan for one! There’s gotta be one somewhere!.............. 😎
Was it the screenwriter? Or was it the studio who insisted the foil be a black man?
To me, this seems indicative of forcing race into a movie. It's very common in buddy movies where at least one friend has to be black. Not because it reflect real life but because someone, the screenwriter or the studio, wants to send a message.
In my opinion, there is likely an element of wokeism.
None that I’ve ever seen. I think the only bad thing that man did was in choosing a wife to replace his wife. Now both are gone...no doubt wishing for the last one to come back!!
Never fond of his replacement wife but I saw “Gone In Sixty Seconds” and she was pretty good - also “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” wasn’t bad...hate to give her credit but there it is...
See how fast we females can turn a subject around?
“”no doubt wishing for the last one to come back!!””
NOOOO - that’s how fast we females can make mistakes - that was supposed to be wishing for the FIRST one (#1) to come back....
#1 - Jennifer Anniston
#2 - Angelina Jolie
I thought she was good in “Maleficent”.....It was an autobiography..............
**this movie was just terrible.**
LOL
I haven’t paid to see a movie in over 40 years. Neighbors took us to see “The Sound of Freedom”. That was good. Rescuing children from extremely evil people. Watch people like Pitt, Cruise, etc pretending to be macho men. Nope.
And I’ve heard it said that the ultimate action movie prop is the horse. I would tend to agree with that. Man made the car, God made the horse.
I raced motorcycles for years. It was too expensive for most black kids at the time. I wonder if that’s
Yeah, I found mom’s involvement a little silly.
The agent seemed pretty spot on. lol.
Whatever.
If you look for it, you will see it.
oh, i didn’t say i paid to see it
VPNs are your friend...
:)
I liked the entertainment value of this movie, even liking Pitt for once. I have hated B. Pitt movies, but this one has all the essential elements.
As we left the theater, I told my son that this movie was essentially a series of scenes from a hundred other movies spliced together in a succuessful format. He stopped and said, wow it is just a hundered remake scenes rolled into one goid movie.
I don’t watch racing, but as a kid I lived the Indy 500 and went many times with my dad.
Chase scenes are an essential part of many mo ies... this one was a long car chase.
Never was much into auto racing, but attended a few drag races in the late '60s and sure as heck know that name.
