These are wonderful!
Thank you!
My first year of early retirement I spent at my window and in the backyard. The hard part of making the videos was logging all the footage to find when I needed it. 2 blue jays fly, 1 cardinal arrives; etc. I still have the notebooks of pages of logging.
I tried draping myself in camouflage to hide from the birds. Just felt silly.
For the birdhouse for the wildlife refuge video, I put the camera on a stack of huge flowerpots and stood on a ladder. Waited an hour for the first baby to leave and fly in horrible Boston summer heat. It FINALLY did and MY BATTERY DIED!!!!!!!
There are stories inside the videos. The baby birds is about the constantly crying little ones and one gets fed by mom at the end. (Just saw a baby Northern Mockingbird a few days ago.) Another is about a greedy squirrel that gets caught in a squirrel-less feeder and finally gets out. The wildlife one is contrasting the hawk flying free with the little one’s first flight. The winter birds found the plastic window feeder trapped the heat and would fall asleep in it. Great was a smaller bird creeping around a larger sleeping bird to reach the seeds.
